Transmission Oil Change Interval
Change your manual transmission (or transaxle) oil at intervals according to the vehicle manufacturer's recommendations. This usually means every 20,000 miles for driving in severe conditions such as:
- hot weather
- mountainous terrain
- with trailer towing
- stop-and-go traffic
Additional demands placed on the transmission will create extra heat and this heat will wear out transmission oil sooner than normal. For normal driving, which excludes conditions listed above, change your manual transmission oil every 40,000 miles.
